The Micro Giga connector meets high-speed requirements that don't stop with today's designs.
With the break-neck transmission speeds of
today's networks, designing systems that meet current speeds, yet offer a pathway to
next-generation equipment, can be a real challenge. To offer designers flexibility
for the future, Fujitsu Takamisawa has introduced its new high-density Micro-Giga
connector series. This differential board-to-board connector supports data transfer
rates up to 5 GB/sec (2.5GHz) with less than 3% forward crosstalk at 100 pico second
pulse-rise time (4 pairs switching) -- enough to allow a clean signal through the
next several generations of products.

In addition to its ability to handle high-speeds, the Micro Giga offers a better
cost-performance ratio than costly fiber optic or coax interconnects. This is due
to its modified strip-line structure. The simple design fully surrounds each signal
contact with a ground to greatly minimize crosstalk.
The Micro Giga is ideal for applications in high-speed networking, computer clusters,
video systems, test equipment and real-time medical equipment. And it meets Bellcore
requirements for use in telecommunications equipment as well.
