FUJITSU TAKAMISAWA EXPANDS HIGH-SPEED CONNECTOR LINE
SUNNYVALE, Calif. - December 11, 2000 - - Responding to increasing data
transmission rates, Fujitsu Takamisawa America Inc. (FTA) has expanded its line of board-to-board, high-density,
matched-impedance connectors with additional pin counts and stacking heights.Designed for data communications,
instrumentation, medical and computer equipment operating at frequencies up to 625MHz, the FCN-260H series offers a
characteristic impedance of 50 ohms single-ended with less than 5 percent crosstalk at the near end.
It also meets Bellcore 1217 specifications for telecom equipment.

The stacking, strip-line connector series was
originally offered with 100 and 120 pins in two rows on 1.27mm (0.050-inch) centers.
FTA has expanded that to now include 80, 140, 160, 180 and 200 pin counts.
Standard height product includes the 80, 120, 140, 160, 180 and 200-pin versions,
which are capable of connecting two printed circuit boards in parallel at 10.92mm (0.430 inch).
For increased design flexibility, the 100, 120, 140 and 160-pin plugs are available in a 18.75mm (0.738inch) stack-height version.
Fujitsu Takamisawa also offers the connectors in a choice of two platings: either Fujitsu's PAGOS gold plating or a Bellcore 1217
plating for telecommunications applications.
The connector's signal contacts are rated at 1A at 250V and have a maximum contact resistance of 40 milliohms (6V DC, 0.1A).
Insulation resistance is 100 megaohms, minimum (500V DC), and the operating temperature range is -55oC to +105oC.
Available immediately from stock, the price for a FCN-260(H) 140-pin connector pair is $18.94 in 10K-piece quantities.
Fujitsu Takamisawa America, Inc. markets and distributes electronic components throughout North,
Central and South America. Products include electromechanical relays, connectors, keyboards and
thermal printers. The company is headquartered at 250 E. Caribbean Drive, Sunnyvale, California, 94089.
