FUJITSU TAKAMISAWA ADDS CARDBUS CONNECTOR
SUNNYVALE, Calif. - January 11, 1999 - Fujitsu
Takamisawa America, Inc. has expanded its PC card connector offering with the addition of a
metal- shielded header that meets the JEIDA and PCMCIA Version 4 CardBus specification.
The 68-position FCN-560H connector supports high-performance applications enabled by 32-bit CardBus
cards in small form-factor computing devices such as notebook PCs, digital cameras, portable medical
and test equipment, and handheld devices.

The connector accepts 3.3V Type I and II PC Cards. It is available in a right-angle, surface-mount
configuration along with an optional lightweight card ejection mechanism. Both devices can be mounted
on either the top or bottom of the printed circuit board. They are also offered in a 2-mm raised
version that allows additional components to be mounted underneath on the PCB.
Two fault-ground contact clips and a card-lock device on the ejector ground and secure the PC Card
once it is inserted.
The connector has a current rating of 0.5 ADC, a voltage rating of 250 VAC, and a dielectric withstand
voltage of 500 VAC (1 min.). The insertion/withdrawal life is 5,000 cycles in an industrial
environment and 10,000 cycles in an office environment.
The FCN-560H CardBus connector is available immediately.
